JV Volleyball Invitational

Sault High hosted a seven team JV/Freshmen invitational on Saturday, with Cheboygan, Cedarville, Petoskey JV and Freshmen and St. Ignace.  Petoskey JV won the tournament, with Soo JV placing second, St. Ignace 3rd and Soo Freshmen finishing fourth. Soccer @ Oscoda Invitational

The boys soccer team traveled to Oscoda to play in an invitational tournament and ended the day 1-1-1.  They won 7-0 against Standish, lost 0-8 to Royal Oak Shrine and had a 2-2 draw against Hazel Park.

JV Football @ Lincoln

JV football secured it’s first win of the season by defeating hosts Lincoln-Alcona by a score of 28-16.  The JV and Varsity teams will travel to West Branch next week for a Friday night double header.

Cross Country @ Bad Axe

Boys and girls cross country traveled to Bad Axe to compete in the Hatchet Invitational, with the girls placing first and the boys finishing second based on a tiebreaker.  Full article can be read @

Football @ Lincoln Alcona

Varsity game is cancelled after Lincoln forfeited the game due to lack of players.  JV will still travel down to play, but game is moved from 4 pm to 6 pm on Friday.  Any questions, please contact the athletic office.

Soccer v. Boyne City

Boys soccer had their first home game against Boyne City last night, where the visiting Ramblers came away with a 3-0 win.  The team resumes play against Escanaba Bayside on September 11th in Escanaba.

JV Volleyball vs. Rudyard

JV Volleyball beat Rudyard in 3 sets on Thursday night, with scores of 12-25, 26-24 and 15-3.  Taylor Pratt had 10 assists and 3 digs, Kaitlyn Anderson had 1 kill, 4 digs, 1 ace, Emily McLean had 4 kills and 2 digs, Alex Menard had 12 digs, Brooke baker had 4 kills, 5 digs, 2

V Football vs. Alpena

The varsity football team hosted the Alpena Wildcats last Friday, and lost to the visitors in a hard fought contest, 12-6.  Sault falls to 1-1 overall, while Alpena improves to 2-0.  The blue devils travel to Marquette this Friday to play the Redmen @ 7.  

Soccer vs. Manistique

Boys soccer traveled to Manistique on Thursday, August 30th to face the Emeralds.  The team won 8-0, with goals coming from Henry Swedene (4), Caleb Wilson (1), Duncan Lavey (1), Noah Misiak (1) and Andrew Krans (1).  Assist go to Alex McCready (2), Reily Cox (2), Kyler Lawson (1), Duncan Lavey(1), Nathan McKinney (1).  Krans

Varsity Football @Medilodge

Members of the Varsity football team recently volunteered at a fundraising car wash for Medilodge (formerly Tendercare) of Sault Ste. Marie.  Overall, around 25 members of the team came out to support the residents of Medilodge.
